About Her Films was created to give voice to, and tell authentic stories about, women and their experiences.
Currently a San Francisco resident, Melinda James has recently discovered the fascinating and intricate world of film. This upcoming fall, Melinda will be attending UC Santa Cruz’s Social Documentation Master’s program to complete her first documentary film around women artists and social justice.

Collective Perspective
A week and a half ago, About Her Films was invited to be a part of Collective Perspective, the first quarterly gathering of collective artists throughout the US. Hosted by SOM in San Francisco, the Collective Perspective featured The Mint Collective, MADE Jewelry, Grown Kids Radio, Props, NuSoul and GoldSweat, as well as some of the Bay Area’s finest DJs. It was a great event and I had the pleasure of meeting and networking with great minds.
