Yesterday, I decided to work on some footage from an outing at Four Mile Beach in Santa Cruz, CA with the always adventurous, Caitlin. This stuff was shot in October and I finally worked up the nerve to put it together. Working with wide, open nature shots is something I don’t do often so it was a bit of a challenge for me to figure out how to make it interesting enough to watch, as well as how to make it flow without seeming too much like a nature montage.
I’m glad that I did finally do something with it because now I have perspective of how I’d like to shoot future pieces at the beach, or outdoors. Although it can be such a weird spot, Santa Cruz is definitely a beautiful, beautiful place.
