Typewriter – An indiSLIDER Exercise

I’ve had the indiSLIDER mini for quite some time and have only recently been putting it to use in my most recent projects. I was able to get some practice in this weekend using my friend’s typewriter as my subject. I love using this little slider and am excited about becoming more comfortable using it.

Flora

Another day with my good pal, Ed Lover. The weather was amazingly beautiful, so we decided to head to the park nearby his spot to chat and take in some sun. We sat near a patch of flowers and I picked a dandelion and told him that blowing it might make for a cool shot in slow motion. We tried, unsuccessfully, to determine the direction the wind was blowing and ended up missing a bunch of the dandelion seeds in action. Next time we’re packing a wind vane.

Boardwalk

I recently went to Santa Cruz with my friend, Yesenia, to look for a place live while I attend grad school. We had some time to kill before my first showing, so we took a quick stroll down the Boardwalk and a spin on the Ferris Wheel. When we stopped at the top, I was reminded that I have a slight fear of heights.

Halfpipe

I spent Memorial Day in the beautiful East Bay with some friends and made a detour to say hey to my pal, Atreau, at the Smokey Ramp Jam. I got there a bit late so I was only able to document the youth halfpipe competition. These young folks were tearing it up!

A Model Affair

I have a bunch of small personal projects that I have had lined up from the past couple of weeks, but I had to push this little gem ahead of the pack because I love my dear friend, Ed, too much.  Haha.  He just might kill me for posting this up on the site, but I think he looks so fly in it!

Ed was invited to be a model for his friend’s fashion show. It was his first time doing anything of the sort so, feeling much like a mother watching her child in his first school play, I decided to take the liberty of documenting the event. Ladies – feel free to holler.

Flipped

Part one of a three part series based on a day spent with my friend, Amy. We were searching for pull up bars, but the monkey bars at a nearby playground sufficed.

Shot on my Canon Rebel T2i. Edited and color corrected in Final Cut Pro.

Emily – The Tunnel

A quick color correction practice in FCP.

My first meeting with Ms. Emily McLean. I’m working with her to direct/shoot/edit her first music video for the single, It Takes the Most, off her recently released EP.

Song: Flying Lotus – Tea Leaf Dancers (Remix)

We’re going to start shooting next week. I’m really excited about the project and can’t wait to see what we come up with!

Secret Celebration

This was shot on a cold and gray day in San Francisco (I guess that’s technically any normal day in the city) during a friend’s surprise birthday party. I had fun color correcting this one and breathing a new life into it to capture the festive spirits we were in.

Thought Process

What can I say? I think I’ve fallen in love with color correction. Vibing with my buddy, Ed, over food and words. Song is My Day by Joya Mooi.
